How To Apply for an OFW ID Card

Good News! Overseas Filipino workers can now obtain an Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC), without any hassle. OEC serves as your proof or license that you are working legally in your respective country. Without it, you would not be allowed to leave the Philippines and return to your country of employment, as it serves as your travel document and exit pass as well.

The hassle lies in the fact that getting an OEC is time consuming, for you have to endure a long trip just to go to the Philippine Embassy or the Philippine Consulate General, line-up for long queues, and then pay for extra fees.

Furthermore, having to secure this piece of paper can be quite challenging. Once it goes missing, you would have to file for a replacement again.

You can now apply for an OFW ID online.

Follow the steps below:

To apply for an iDOLE ID, OFWs should make an account on DOLE’s website, or at One-Stop Online Facility Portal and apply for an OFW card by using their latest and valid Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) number by logging into their BM online accounts under Balik Manggagawa (BM).

STEPS :

Go to DOLE websiteSign in if you already have an existing account. If you don't have it yet, create an account first.

Select Proceed.

Fill-up the form completely and submit to register and OFW account.
Then sign in.

Enter your OEC VALID Number in the website.

Once you are already signed in, click the blue iDole Once Stop Shop button.

Select OFW ID Card.

Click Proceed, then you'll see your reference number and your OFW ID

Click delivery type: PICK UP, and the location.

Take Note: YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR ANYTHING

if you are going to pick it up at POEA.

You have choices as to which POEA branch nearest to you.
If you are in Manila area, you may select POEA Ortigas.

OFW ID is Succesfully generated

It should take about a week before the ID is released.

Visit the nearest regional office in your place or go to the main office of DOLE to get your iDOLE ID.

When picking up the ID, come prepared because while it is free for OFWs, there are a few things necessary to avoid going back and forth just to claim your ID.

When claiming your ID, make sure you have 2 or more valid IDs as proof of your identication. Government IDs or your OEC is much better. Approach the person-in-charge for your application. If necessary, present your OEC, otherwise wait as your name is veried from the OFW database. After successful verication, your ID will then be printed and will be made ready for release. Wait until your name is called for the release of your iDoLE ID Card.
